For the love of autumn

Life, at times, can be very, very hard. Work can be thankless, tasks can be daunting and days can become monotonous. We can choose to let that affect us constantly or we can choose to surrender it and seek the good. This is what we work toward every single day. Sometimes it's just not possible but more often than not, with just a little effort, we can sneak in a little bit of fun and a whole lot of gratitude.
The Autumn Equinox came in with the first extended summer like weather system we've experienced all summer. Yes, you read that correctly, it's been very autumn like all summer and then summer like at the start of autumn. We took total advantage of this extended spell of good weather, spending as much time outdoors as possible. Yesterday afternoon the temperature dropped 30 degrees within a couple hours and we guess, at this point, Autumn is probably here to stay a while. Immediately we began thinking about soft, warm sweaters, comfort food, warm fires, football and hockey. We also started looking toward short, off season, vacations to shorten the quick approaching, long winter months. Our gypsy blood never stops boiling and our schedule never seems to slow down.
It was a very fun but very busy few weeks since I last posted. Those weeks included work, appointments, winterizing the RV and getting it into storage, harvesting, processing and seasoning the gardens, a couple baseball games, a half marathon, several bon fire gatherings, football games, BBQ's, many good friends, a lot of good food and more late nights and early mornings then I care to count. We keep telling ourselves we're too old for this and yet we can't seem to stop. It's really hard to say no to family, friends and fun. There will come a time.... but right now we are so very grateful to have a life filled with really good people,  a variety of wonderful experiences and the ability to make dreams come true. I just wish there were more hours in a day, days in a week and weeks in the year. How many people can say that?  We are truly blessed.
